Mexico’s performance is similar to the countries of the region, where 71% of companies in Argentina and 43% in Chile plan for periods less than 12 months. Even Brazil, with 30%, is above the global average.
Hector Perez, managing partner of the Salles Sainz Grant Thornton, attributed the short look at the business in Latin America to the political and economic instability that has afflicted the region for many years.
Warned of the risk that firms begin to completely abandon their business planning to a market as challenging and unprecedented, but “we believe the short-term survival and long-term recovery go hand in hand.”
Hector Perez explained that when one focuses on the short term can lose sight of what will happen in the future, making it necessary to strike a balance that can react to the problems of short and long term.
